VIDEO: Varun Chakravarthy dismisses Travis Head on his first delivery

Team India have taken the big wicket of the most feared Australian batsman, Travis Head. After the big breakthrough, the Indians will now be way more confident that before because the man that everyone was afraid of and was concerned about, has departed after scoring a few runs and that’s a big achievement for the Indian bowling attack.

The Blues’ fear of Travis Head goes way back. The Aussie opener has had a great record against Team India in the recent past. India was unbeaten in the 2023 ODI World Cup till the final where they faced Australia. It was Travis Head who made the difference in that final as he played a phenomenal knock of 137 runs. Thus, in this semifinal as well, it was extremely important that they take his wicket quickly and they have been able to do that.

It was mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy who tied the bell to the cat. He picked up the big wicket and in fact, was added to the playing XI to do just that. It was Harshit Rana who had played for India in the first two matches but Varun Chakravarthy replaced him in the match against New Zealand and did phenomenally well. He picked up 5 big wickets in the second innings and won India the match. Seeing his antics in that match, he was given a chance in the semifinal and he has delivered. He took Head’s wicket on his first delivery.

Chakravarthy tricked Head with his off spin who played a lofted shot for a six towards long off. However, it fell short and was caught by Shubman Gill who made a running effort. With this, Australia lost their second wicket and are now in deep trouble in the Champions Trophy semifinal.
