The ICC cricket World Cup 2023 has begun and is in full flow already. The tournament that features the best cricketing nations from all across the world has been a massive success in terms of providing the cricket fans with some extraordinary bit of cricketing action so far.

The tournament has witnessed several memorable moments on and off the pitch until now. Amidst several noteworthy moments, one that has drawn a considerable amount of attention so far has been that of Jasprit Bumrah’s brilliant piece of bowling in the match between India and Bangladesh.

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first. The team was held back a little even after being provided a fantastic start by both the openers. Mahmudullah Riyaz who came into the bat at no.7 in the 38th over did extremely well to steer the innings forward regularly since his arrival. The right hander single handedly kept his team’s hopes of reaching a formidable total alive. With some brilliant big hits, he had helped Bangladesh reach within touching distances of 250 by the end of the 49th over.

Jasprit Bumrah game up to bowl the final over of the innings. The first ball bowled by him was a pin point Yorker that almost had Mahmudullah on his toes. However what followed was even scintillating by the bowler as he nailed in an even more perfect Yorker to break the defences of the batter as the ball crashed into the middle stump. Mahmudullah was dismissed for 46 off 36 as Bangladesh’s hopes of finding some more big shots and quick runs in the remaining deliveries were diminished.

Bangladesh eventually finished with a total of 256/8 in their 50 overs. Litton Das was the top scorer for his side with 66 off 82 deliveries. Tanzid Ahmed too notched up a fifty while opening the batting. Mahmudullah (46 off 36) and Mushfiqur (38 off 46)too made valuable contributions with the bat.
