The city of Varanasi is set to receive an international stadium

The state of Uttar Pradesh is getting its third international stadium in Varanasi , and this one is set to be a huge success. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) team led by vice-president Rajiv Shukla and secretary Jay Shah has visited the Ganjari Area in Varanasi to assess the project, and they’ve already given the site the green light. The project is expected to be underway very soon after the BCCI completes the remaining formalities.

The BCCI team visited the proposed site in Ganjari on Wednesday, March 15, and found it to be a perfect location for a new cricket stadium. The project is going to cost the apex cricketing body around 300 crores, but the state government has already released a fund of 120 crore to compensate the farmers for 31 acres of land. This makes the stadium a very affordable proposition for the BCCI.

Shukla and Shah, in front of UPCA office-holders including Yudhvir Singh and Uday Sinha, inspected the site where 31 acres of land have already been purchased from the farmers. The BCCI and UPCA authorities were satisfied with the site. The land in Ganjari area will be given to the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) on a 30-year lease by the Uttar Pradesh government.

The BCCI is willing to fund the construction of a stadium that will have a seating capacity of 30,000 for a period of up to 90 years. This stadium will be built using the latest technology and will be managed by a project management consultant and contractor who are experienced in this field.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is satisfied with the site for the new state-of-the-art stadium, but is still looking for a company to execute the project. The stadium will be in the Purvanchal region, which is already blessed with two international stadiums.

The officials at the BCCI and UPCA decided to hold the foundation laying ceremony for the proposed stadium after completing the process, so that work on the project can begin as soon as the ceremony is over.
