Australian captain Pat Cummins decided to bat first in this match against Australia as they wanted to set a huge total on board for the Indian cricket team. Australia didn’t receive the start that they wanted as they lost their opener Mitchell Marsh very early in just the 4th over of the inning.

India’s Virat Kohli pulled off a stunner in the slips to help India get their first breakthrough of the match in the form of Mitchell Marsh. Mitchell Marsh had a nervous start and Jasprit Bumrah got an edge which was taken by Virat Kohli. That was a sharp catch from Virat Kohli diving to his left.
Virat Kohli didn’t miss that chance to put early pressure on the Aussies while Jasprit Bumrah was seen in excitement after getting the first wicket of the match. The Australian side was on the backfoot just after that wicket because the Indian bowlers were not giving any loose balls to release the pressure.
Steve Smith and David Warner tried to make a comeback:
The experienced duo of Australia Steve Smith and David Warner tried to make a comeback after losing that early wicket in this match. Both of them were playing sensibly and tried to make a partnership and build this inning. Both of them stayed at the crease for ample time but missed out on their half-centuries for just a few runs. David Warner was caught & bowled by Kuldeep Yadav while Ravindra Jadeja took the wicket of Steve Smith.
