Social media criticize Jay saha for arranging grand welcome for the Pakistan team, video goes viral

The ICC cricket World Cup has begun with a great pomp and show lately. The tournament that was being awaited by millions of cricket fans is finally here. It’s this event that provides all the top notch cricketing nations from all across the globe to prove their worth on the sport’s biggest stage.

The fans have got to witness several eye catching moments ever since the tournament has begun. Amidst several incidents that have taken place in and off the pitch lately, one that drew a considerable amount of attention was that of the Pakistani team being welcomed on their arrival in India for the tournament.

The Pakistani side on their arrival in India were given an extremely warm welcome by the people of India and the cricket fans in particular. Amidst all the welcome that they got, one thing that took place on their arrival resulted in widespread annoyance amongst the Indians. The Pakistani players at the time of their arrival were being greeted by the drumbeat and this was followed by Indian women performing ritual dance to welcome the players.

In response to this, people on social media started pointing this incident out and referred to it as an insult. An account said,”Shouldn’t Jay Shah step down as Secretary of “Woke” BCCI with immediate effect before bringing more disrepute to image of him.

There can’t be more insult to Bharat than OUR girls dancing to welcome Pakistanis!Sorry! I strongly condemn”. This has been followed several more people criticising Jay Shah and the BCCI for having made such kind of an arrangement even though majority of it was needless at that point of time.

To talk about Pakistan’s performances so far in the World Cup, the team has been pretty fantastic until now. The team has won each of it’s first two games that they played against Netherlands and Sri Lanka respectively. The team shall be facing its arch rivals and host – India on 14th of October, a game that has been the highlight of several multi national tournaments in the past.
