The high voltage game between India and Pakistan in the 2023 edition of the World Cup was being highly anticipated by all the fans right from the beginning of the tournament. The match in Lucknow began with Pakistan being asked to bat first by India after the hosts won the toss. Pakistan got off to a decent start with Imam and Abdullah Shafique played quick scoring strokes.
India however sucessfully managed to uproot each of the two batters by the 13th over. Pakistan still had hopes with two of their most dependable batters on strike, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. The duo added some extremely crucial runs for the fourth wicket to put pressure on India. Pakistan’s total had crossed 150 and india needed some magic to break the partnership. It was in the 30th over when India eventually managed to get the breakthrough.
Babar Azam who had batted beautifully and brought up a fifty just in the previous over was looking dangerous. The 5th ball of Siraj’s 30th over was a slower one which bamboozled Babar totally. The batter tried to guide it down towards third man, but the ball magically deceived him, beat his outside edge and dislodged the off stump to everyone’s surprise. Following this beauty of a delivery, Pakistan lost their skipper while India managed to pick a crucial wicket at a much needed time in the match.
