Kieron Pollard is always known for his noteworthy moments both on and off the pitch. Over the past years, Pollard has been a part of several funny incidents on and off the pitch. His playful nature has made the whole cricketing world admire and love him on several ocassions.
The West Indian was involved in another light moment recently just like many others in his cricketing career in the past. The incident took place after the MI New York vs Texas Super kings match of the Major league cricket had come to an end.
Pollard was seen pulling out the vintage aeroplane celebration to mock Bravo after MI New York had knocked out Texas Super kings out of the Major league cricket 2023. Dwayne Bravo had done the same celebration back in the year 2012 during the IPL when Mumbai Indians had faced Chennai Super kings in the eliminator.
Dwayne Bravo dismissed Pollard and then followed it up with a funny celebration signalling an aeroplane with both his hands thereby asking Pollard to take the flight back to Barbados. Pollard seemed to have taken a bit of a revenge when he did the same celebration 11 years later asking Bravo to take a flight back home after his side Texas Super Kings had been eliminated from the tournament following a defeat to Pollard’s MI New York side.
To talk about the game Texas Super kings were put into bat first after having lost the toss. The innings never really seemed to get going as the batters couldn’t find their rhythm at any point throughout their quota of 20 overs. The side lost three wickets inside the powerplay and seemed crippled under some brilliant bowling by the MI New York team.
A decent partnership of 77 runs between Conway and Milink Kumar helped the side cross 100 and put up a respectable total of 158 on the board. MI New York in response didn’t seem to be in any sort of trouble at all as they chased down the total with 1 over to spare and 6 wickets in hand. Dewald Brevis top scored for his side with 41 off 33 balls. Shayan Jahangir too made a decent contribution with his 36 runs innings off just 18 balls. Trent Boult was awarded the man of the match for his spell of 4/24.
