Rajasthan Royals registered an emphatic win over Punjab Kings in tonight’s match. With this, they now keep their Playoffs hopes alive in IPL 2023. Although their chances of qualifying are very slim, they are mathematically still in the battle.

Following a no ball in the first delivery, Riyan Parag hit the next two balls for consecutive sixes. The second six, particularly, was kind of humiliating for the South African bowler as it was not a bad delivery but Parag used his strong wrists to convert it into a maximum.

Thus, he took his revenge in the next four balls. He gave back to back three dot balls (leaving a wide) following which he finally picked up the wicket of Riyan Parag in the final delivery of the over.

Talking about the match, Rajasthan Royals won the toss and opted to field first. Batting first, PBKS put up a total of 187 runs. They scored 48 runs in the last two overs of the first innings and Sam Curran and Shahrukh Khan put up an absolute show.

Rajasthan Royals did not start their chase well, losing Jos Buttler for a duck. However, the ever consistent Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a half century in this match as well and gave Rajasthan a strong footing. Devdutt Padikkal’s 51 off 30 and Shimron Hetmyer’s 46 off 28 helped as well.

In the end, Rajasthan Royals ended up winning the match by a solid margin of 4 wickets (2 balls left). This was their last match of the league stage and they would now have to hope that RCB perform poorly in their last match.
